| About Arleen
Arleen Huffman is a self-taught artist, born and raised in Southern California, and has been drawing and painting since she was a child.
Her artwork throughout her adolescence was an outlet for emotions and spiritual insights, which were all mostly dark ones. Her favorite mediums were oil pastels and colored pencils.
In her early 20's, Arleen began a relationship with Jesus Christ. “As He began to restore my life and give me new sight, He also stirred back up the gift and desire in me to create.”
Arleen relocated to Washington State in 1992 where she developed some new skills that brought about a love working with Acrylics.
In 2001, Arleen felt commissioned by God to expressly paint revelations of His heart and Kingdom. Each piece is a birthing process.
By the time it is manifested onto a canvas, it has often become an experience within her own spirit. “They have accompanied or prophesied the moves of the Spirit and have given a fresh perception of the Kingdom to myself as well as to the viewers.”
Arleen continues to use Acrylics as her main medium. “I enjoy the versatility of its use, quick drying time, and the vast color assortment available.
I also love to bring a 3 dimensional look and feel to my paintings. I experiment with a variety of textures and usually have objects protruding from my canvas.”
Exhibits
Arleen has had her work at the Allied Arts of Yakima Valley annual Art Walk as well as the Allied Arts of Yakima 38th Annual Juried Art Exhibit.
